Hello and Happy Tuesday to you! Regular readers will be shocked that I am posting a 'What I Wore' memo, but this is a little bit different, I promise.
If you didn't know, a few weeks ago I had
abdominal surgery and to say it is akin to the feeling of being run over by a truck, would be more accurate than you might imagine. To aid in healing and to keep my mid section feeling securely supported, I have been wearing the following item, known as a 'Post Surgery Binder'. I wore it to a check up the other day and my GP was very impressed - I think most people buy them through the Physio.
This comes in many sizes, and costs about $70. You can order it online and it will be shipped to you within a few days. It comes from
Marena, who are an American company although they also have an office in Sydney, which makes for speedy shipping and excellent customer service. They also make various compression garments for different areas of your body, depending on what procedure you have had; apparently they are very popular for breast surgery. Good to know.
It wraps snugly around my mid section, with a large Velcro piece to keep it all in place. It comes in various sizes, is adjustable and is also very comfortable. Last weekend I went to a theme park for a family adventure and wore it all day. Not that I went on any rides, apart from a very sedate Ferris wheel! Good heavens! It doesn't give you invincible powers, it just holds everything together and takes the strain off your core muscles if you need to walk around on a hard surface for a long time.
You can see from the following selfie that it also has a marked slimming effect.
I don't know who those tall skinny aliens are in the background though. I guess you see all sorts at the amusement park.
Linking up to Redcliffe Style and IBOT today.
NB This is NOT a sponsored post, I just really like my binder.
