Spring Clean!

I've had a bit of a spring clean around the blog, what do you think?

I went off to Problogger with a few ideas about how I wanted to change up my approach to blogging, and I came back so full of inspiration, I really needed some time to let it all percolate around in my head. So many wise words, a few epiphanies, some definite Ah ha! moments - lots of them. You know those times when your head is about to explode and you have a desperate need to get moving now on 20 different projects at once? I really needed to stop for a minute and take stock!

So while it all percolated and clarified, (and we got through school holidays intact), I rearranged the house, cleaned out the garden in preparation for new plantings, and then turned my eye to brightening up the blog. There is still a bit to do, but I'm getting there!

One of the biggest take outs from the conference for me was to blog authentically as yourself. Strive for your personal best and do what you love. Be your own hero. Spend some time finding out what your strengths are and work on improving them. There where lots of other take outs and I will blog about them in the following weeks, but for now I want to make a few changes based on being my best, most genuine self.

I began blogging because I wanted to record those little moments that make life so much fun, those things that happen that make your heart swell or your mind boggle and especially those moments that just make you laugh out loud. Those moments that bring a lightness to your day, and make you happy. I don't think I've strayed from that in the last three years, but I definitely want more of those moments in my life! Those moments are what I want to write about, and I want to hear how you find those happy moments, too.

My happy place is still writing, cooking, gardening, renovating, creating new things out of old, giving furniture a new lease on life, and it's definitely there in the middle of chaotic family adventures. I'm still very happy being sarcastic and dropping a few F bombs, so no need to be disappointed!

So where is your happy place? Is it when the house is clean and the children are asleep? Is it laughing at some monkey shenanigans? Is it relaxing on a beach or kicking a business goal or having one foot on the highway to adventure? Is it drinking margaritas out of a jar with your blogging buddies? (because apparently, that place is very happy for me).

Where is your happy place?

xx
