There is something magical about a visit to a craft market, especially when it is right by the ocean and you go just before sunset. Last month I went to
Handmade Redcliffe, and wanted to tell you about it because it is on again this Saturday!
This market is dedicated to local, handmade products and services. It is set in the grounds and inside of an old memorial hall, which only lends to the creative atmosphere. The stall holders where all lovely, and very happy to chat with you about their products.
There was a lot of jewelry and clothing, as well as lots of stuff for children and babies.
I love the exuberance of this wild and crazy piece! I think it would look amazing on a plain shirt or dress.
This stall had a lot of laser cut ear rings and rings, with beautiful designs. There was one pair of earrings that had a bunny on one ear and a deer on the other. Totally sqee worthy!
Refreshments including decent coffee and straws for your can are on hand.
I can't drink a can of diet coke without a straw! There was also some amazing smelling wood fire pizza.
It was lovely to get to know some local businesses. This stall had the most beautiful pink grapefruit hand cream. Normally I only like pink grapefruit with some gin or vodka but this was pretty lush!
Have you ever seen anything more romantic and delightful?
I don't know what this jelly fish creation is but I thought it was adorable, especially with the late afternoon sun peering through.
Skulls, my favourite! I find it hard to go past a sugar skull image...
So many beautiful handmade quirky items..
These lovebirds had the most genius idea - cutlery with messages stamped on it. I am going back to get 'Use the fork' for my finger food loving star wars obsessed child.
Jewelry made from washers covered in washi tape. Genius!
And lastly, a toddler crawl through tent, complete with a padded floor to nap on.
Please can I have one in a grown up size?
If you would like to go to the Handmade Redcliffe markets, check them out
here. My advice to you is to go when they first open, because apparently it was mostly sold out by the time I got there. And here I thought it was chock full of gorgeousness!
This Saturday 3rd August, they are on at
Woody Point Memorial Hall
Cnr Oxley Avenue & Hornibrook Esplanade
(opposite the park with the flying fox)
