That was what? Mega exciting and a bit busy!
Do you remember last year I joined forces with some blogging friends and formed
Blog Power Events, to provide events for the Brisbane Blogosphere? We've been trucking along, having fun and learning new things every day. This week we have three things going on, and that is very exciting! On Wednesday we helped
Wenatex Australia to organise a
Bloggers High Tea, to share their passion about healthy sleep. This may sound yawn worthy (see what I just did) but it was an absolute hoot, and hello - Pimms? So good I had to have another to check. Wenatex surprised me with the gift of a travel pillow (a super advanced, state of the art, silver threaded $270 travel pillow) and it is a bit of a miracle product because APPARENTLY I haven't snored once since I started using it. According to my family, who are clearly delusional, because obviously I am too much of a dainty lady to
snore.

| Hard to believe I was a Pimms virgin before this. Consider this cherry popped! |
A few weeks ago all of the family had a virus, that left quickly but also left behind a lingering, hacking cough. Especially for Monkey boy, who despite being in rude good health and high spirits, has been barking like a seal every night and early morning. Last Thursday he was walking out the door to go to school and coughed so hard he vomited all over his uniform, poor chicken! We couldn't get into a Dr until Tuesday morning before school. Great I thought, we will get a script for something to knock this cough on the head and he can still make it to school and be on his merry way. The Dr had her stethoscope right on Monkey Boy's chest when he did his seal routine, at which point the Dr sent us off for a swab for Whooping Cough and told us to keep him home until the results came back, 3 days later. The results where negative for Whooping Cough but positive for Seal, so the delightful monkey has endured 3 days of home play during one of mummy's busiest weeks ever. Thank heavens for Teenage Daughters and husbands that work from home!

| Sure Mum, I'll just play quietly while you get on with your work. |
Today is the last day of school, before we head into 2 weeks of mid winter
arguing boredom using all the broadband FUN! FUN, damn it!! I have lots of easy fun activities and excursions ideas, so these holidays are going to be different. I say this every holidays, do you? I start off with such great intentions, but then the kids get bored before my activity time slot has finished, or we run out of money, or something stupid like that. For me, the holidays are a success if there is no arguing, so that will be my measuring stick when putting together the ideas into some sort of cohesive, doable plan. Today the schools cross country race has been cancelled due to rain (BEST NEWS EVER) so I have one more day of childless freedom to myself. I'm investing in the next two weeks. I'm going to go out for sanity sushi to fill my bank of emotion with calm collectedness. I am going to organise a school holiday calendar like no ones business. I may use Pinterest as a valid research tool. Wish me luck and watch this space.

What are you getting up to in the holidays? How do you juggle children at home with work, especially if you work from home?
