My Life in 250 Words

On a whim, I've decided to take part in Blog Every Day in May Challenge, from The Story of My Life Blog.  I know, every day!! That is indeed a challenge! But the topics look really interesting, and the rules are easy. Go and check it out, you might be tempted too.  Also, I have this thing for Texas (home of Jenni, the blogger behind The Story of My Life Blog) and Cate from Life behind the Purple Door is doing the challenge as well – thanks Crazy Purple Mum for the push!

First Challenge – My life in 250 words

I was born on Sydney’s northern beaches, to a mum that loved to sun bake and a dad that loved the ocean. I have a younger sister who is way cooler than me. Although the northern beaches are beautiful and considered a super wealthy area, we lived in a working class suburb and I went to a public school. I always loved English and writing, and as a teenager I also loved wearing black eyeliner and chain smoking. I couldn't wait to leave home and adventure as a grown up, so I left school as fast as I could and worked in a bank – OH, the excitement! Ha!

I did all sorts of interesting and boring jobs before marrying the love of my life just one week after my 22nd birthday. After a few more years we had our daughter, and then I got serious in the business of trying to be important in a marketing career. Eventually we had 2 sons and moved to Brisbane, a very chilled out and beautiful city. Some might disagree, but I love it here and cannot imagine moving back to Sydney.

My life is about family, house renovations, gardening, cooking, blogging, and friends. I would like to go back and really embrace a love affair with my first love of writing. I can’t imagine losing anything in the equation to make room for it though, it will have to squash in with the rest of my life. What else would I write about?

xx
