What do you mean we are in March already? Bloody hell this year is flying by! In February, I had a lot of doctors appointments. It's a bit boring, so I'll be brief. (And there will be no photos of my health issues! Shut up, I said NO! I don't care if it is Wordless Wednesday!)
- I had an ultrasound that confirmed I have 2 large hernias in the wispy gauze that is my abdominal muscles. I'd like to blame the 3 ceasars that my abdomen has endured, but it's possibly more than that. In any case, I've been put on the wait list to see a surgeon about going on the wait list to have surgery, so......they might be around for a while. Should I name them? Should they each have their own name, like Flora & Fauna, Uncle Festers conjoined girlfriends from the Addams Family; or a group name, like The Warrumbungles?
- I went and saw a useless exercise physio, who didn't want to hear about the hernias and gave me lots of strange abdominal exercises that seemed to be just lying there and clenching in different ways. Afterwards I told me GP about it, and she said to not do those exercises and not to go back to the clench instructor. Which was a relief, frankly.
- I saw a podiatrist to get my feet checked for diabetes related issues, of which I have none. The podiatrist was a bit flirty in a creepy kind of way though, which was novel.
- I saw my diabetes doctor, who is most excellent. Even though she gave my diabetes a big promotion, I still love her.
- I saw the best goddamn diabetes educator I have ever seen. She didn't preach on about yogurt, which is my test for all diabetes educators everywhere. They love it. I hate it.
- I also broke my toe and I hurt my back, and I was so sick of health proffesionals at this stage I didn't see anyone about it. OK, if you MUST have a photo for this segment go here and feast your eyes on my toe. You're welcome.

I went and picked up this lovely cabinet to play with. There is another behind it almost the same, but a bit more worn. They seemed to come with a spare drawer that doesn't go with anything. Bonus! They where a gift from my sweet cousin and her husband, who are transforming their house from a Balinese extravaganza to something sleek and modern. What do you think I should do with them? I have a few ideas....
I went to some fun events, laughed with old friends and met some new friends. Except for that clown, because that shit is scary. I'm still processing the horror. The horror!!
I ate a lot of chicken. Which has not been a hardship at all, let me tell you. (Actually, I'll tell you all about it in another post)
The weather has been on level: Super Soaker here in Brisbane so in between vacuuming up water, moving furniture around, stressing about the dire laundry situation and getting severe cabin fever, I cooked a bit of winter food. I needed the nurturing of a warm kitchen and some vegetable soup! The family needed the nurturing of that tea cake. Would you rather cook or eat? Sometimes I'd rather cook..
Did you get up to anything exciting last month? And what exactly would you name your hernias if you had them?
xx
