I can't believe it was only last Wednesday that Mr BC & I went to the opening night of Cavalia.
There where a few other bloggers going as well, so we met up early to share a meal and a glass of wine.
Note the horse on the label! Getting excited!
If you are looking for a delicious Indian banquet for $17 per head, head to
Mehfil at Toombul.
Mr BC and myself. Super excited!!
Catching up with Suger and Mr Suger.
And the show is about to begin!
At this point, there was an announcement banning photography during the show, so I will show you some photos from the Media Preview the day before. Brace yourself, they are blurry.
Cavalia is not only horses, although they are pretty special. It is also acrobats, dancers, trapeze artists, singers..the whole thing is quite breathtaking.
There is always something happening on the stage, and rarely only one thing.
They just keep adding more and more things into the mix!
This is called Roman Riding, and I sooooooooooo want to do this, it looks like so much fun.
Obviously there is a lot of skill involved with staying upright while you have a horse attached to each foot, but these guys where having the time of their life, and made it look so easy!
And while they gallop at speed around the stage, some acrobats come out to up the amaze balls level even further.
And then suddenly you are aware there is a kick arse live band playing on stage as well.
And then lets do some jumping OMG!!
And then one of the riders is controlling FOUR horses while standing upright, galloping, and LAUGHING her head off.
Oh, some aerial dancing, excellent. Time for a bit of a calm down. This was so beautiful, and very soothing.
There was a whole lot of jumping, and trick riding, and acrobating, and trapeze artists that seem to fly out of no where.
Interspersed with this sort of beautiful spectacle that gives you a lump in your throat.
Someone asked me if I enjoyed the show, and I told them it gave me goosebumps and made me teary. I wasn't lying. In fact, the next accidental selfie is of me watching the show (and being so overwhelmed I hit the reverse camera button by accident) Get ready to laugh, I did!
Seriously.
I was expecting the stage to fill up with 5 times as many performers, but I guess they each have the talent of 5 people.
So! Back to the opening night with a few sneaky photos of the after party...
There was a lot of food, and some ordinary table manners. People!
There was a lot of champagne, and thank heavens for that, because I still had goosebumps.
And apparently there where a lot of celebrities, who where mostly sporting personalities. If I wasn't so sports challenged I would be able to point them out to you. I did spot
Richard Wilkins, everyone seems to know him!
If you would like to see some much better photos of Cavalia, go
here where they have proffesional photographers.
If you would like to buy tickets, go
here. I guarantee you will have an amazing night!
xx
Disclaimer - I was gifted two tickets to Cavalia with no expectation that I write a review, but I loved it so much I cannot stop raving about it. In fact, instead of cutting my hair short as planned, I will be growing it long, buying some thigh high suede boots and taking riding lessons.
Linking to
Wordless Wednesday. Sorry about the words!
