Today is bucketing down, but this time last week I was at the Friday Park, drinking wine with the other mums, as usual.
This is the view from our 2012 bench. (we had a different one last year) It's quite beautiful, isn't it? Shady trees, next to the water, plenty of play equipment and picnic tables and wide open spaces....
I have a plastic wine glass that I bought specifically for the park.
The children have to share, though.
So while the mums and the occasional dad get down to the business of a good chin wag, the children can go tribal and be free within a reasonably safe area.
Gorgeous well behaved dogs stay on thier leashes. It's why they are so well behaved.
Normally the tribe hunt for crabs but on this day they had the novelty of a fisherman to annoy assist. He was quite lovely, patient & accomodating, but I don't think he'll come back on a Friday.
The children play nicely & really enjoy hanging out togethor.
Last Friday we got a bit organised & cooked sausages on the BBQ for dinner.
It was lovely being able to stay & relax, rather than rush home to cook order take out.
By late afternoon all of the dads had come down to join us. I think they'll be down more often now they know how delightful it is to have a relaxing drink & hang out with some friends at the Friday Park.
Stayed to watch the sunset, & then home!
Perfect start to the weekend.
