Chair Emergency

See the navy emeco chair shunning the mama bearenstien chair?
Bullying will not be tolerated!

So I free foraged this chair off the street about 10 years ago. I think it had been left behind in a council cleanup (For those OS readers, this is where you can leave hard rubbish on the curb & the council will pick it up. Great for scoring free stuff).

It is a sturdy chair, very solid. It has served its time in the laundry, occasionaly venturing upstairs as emergency seating. It has been part of a blanket fort. Used to stand on. Been a stable support for carpentry projects. I like its reliability.

I don't like it's looks. I know that 'Country Style' has moved on from decorative geese with bows around their necks, its just that this chair is a little too Mama Bearenstien's Country Kitchen for me. I have US Navy Emeco chairs in my kitchen. (OH OK OK they are reproductions! I admit it!!)

Fresher than it's setting, but still not quite......
Note that this is NOT my kitchen. It is the unrenovated workshop.
Where I store lots of magazines.

So I painted the chair white. It took a bit to cover that Hunter Green, so there are 3 undercoats & 2 topcoats on the chair. With sanding in between. I've invested a bit of time into doing it up.

And I still don't like it.

So, I am asking for your opinion, what would you suggest I do? I was thinking a bit of distressing & a beachy chair pad, but I don't think I would like that either. Should I paint it a different colour? Turquoise? Yellow? Black? Paint a chair pad on it? Decoupage it with comic books? Should I go boringly on trend & paint it grey with some aviarian stencil?

Sell it? Put it back on the curb?

Please help, it's a chair emergency.
